Got a deadline and working from home? Maybe you’re just dying to check your Facebook notifications or you’re late for a Zoom meeting? The worst thing that can happen is that your Wi-Fi is suddenly down. These issues always happen at the wrong time and can cause a lot of inconvenience to the avid user. Before you break into panic mode, here’s some tips for when your Wi-Fi is down.
- First and foremost, (I know it’s a cliché) have you tried turning the Wi-Fi off and on again? This can be a simple fix a lot of the time.
- Check your router. If the green lights are flickering, then this is normal and indicates that your network is running fine. If you see an orange light and it’s flashing, then this can point to an issue with the network so you should contact your provider.
- Is your computer or laptop running slow? Try speedtest.net to check how efficient your internet speed is.
- If all fails, you can try an ethernet cable direct from your system and into the router. Your router will also have a reset button. Sometimes, the rest button is so small you may need to use a pin to press it.
